Lowcountry Hauntings

Serving the faithful of Beaufort, Charleston, and the surrounding Lowcountry since 1821.

About

Beverly didn’t set out to hunt the strange and the unholy. Born and raised along the tidal marshes of the South Carolina Lowcountry, she spent most of her life tending to the living; moving cross-country to Manhattan to serve as a middle school teacher.

Moving back to her hometown and pivoting in her career, everything changed the day she stumbled across a peculiar part-time job listing from the Diocese of Charleston: Field Support for Special Investigations. The description was vague, but something about it; equal parts curiosity and unease, compelled her to apply. An application, an interview and one very odd “trial run” later, she found herself partnered with Father Lopez, driving the backroads of Beaufort, Charleston, and beyond, tracking cold spots, cataloging unexplained sounds, and helping locals make sense of the unsettling.

She’s not a believer in everything, but she’s seen enough to stop being a skeptic. Beverly has become an indispensable part of the church’s quiet war against things that don’t belong here.
